The exhibition « Our World Is Burning » offers a political view on contemporary creation from the Arabian Gulf, where war and diplomatic tensions have been determining the history of the early 21st century. The title refers to human tragedies caused by the successive and ongoing conflicts in the region but it also relates to the ecological crisis and environmental disasters such as the huge and destructive forest fires in Amazonia, Siberia, California and Australia. Not only is fire a statement of danger, but it is also the symbol of a tremendous democratic impulse that this region of the world has been experiencing since the Arab Springs. Fire then also becomes an expression of artistic intensity.
